6:30 PM - 8:30 PMFor teens entering 8th -12th grade from all five Sonoma County synagogues and the Jewish community at large. Chaverim provides a unique venue that inspires involvement in Jewish life.
Students meet by grade level for weeknight dinner discussions, and are also encouraged to participate in other Jewish teen activities here and in the Bay area. Meetings provide the opportunity to experience social interaction and engaging discussions dealing with relevant emerging young adult issues as well as ethical topics- all through a Jewish lens.

He will be having an interactive conversation about social justice and the important work being done in the Golden State. He is a third generation Northern Californian whose family farmed prunes and grapes in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County for nearly a half century. He served on his local school board, city council, and board of supervisors before being elected to the State Senate. $18 member, $22 non-member, kids 13 and under free. -

Yom Haatzmaut is a time to recognize the creation of the state of Israel through celebration and song. Often, artistic responses to a traumatic event are created after a considerable period of reflection and collective processing by the impacted group. Cantorial Soloist Erica Wisner will join Cantor Shapiro for this multimedia program that will bring examples of music related to Israel’s independence and will also explore differing musical responses to the war, such as nationalism, hope, revenge, and solidarity. $18 for members, $22 for non-members, kids 13 and under are free.
