Rabbi's Tisch - Music of the Moment: Exploring Israeli Musical Responses to October 7th

Yom Haatzmaut is a time to recognize the creation of the state of Israel through celebration and song. Often, artistic responses to a traumatic event are created after a considerable period of reflection and collective processing by the impacted group. Cantorial Soloist Erica Wisner will join Cantor Shapiro for this multimedia program that will bring examples of music related to Israel’s independence and will also explore differing musical responses to the war, such as nationalism, hope, revenge, and solidarity. $18 for members, $22 for non-members, kids 13 and under are free. Join us for a special Shabbat service entirely composed by CST member Nolan Gasser in honor of Rabbi George. With Nolan at the piano, Cantorial Soloist Erica Wisner will be joined by two guest vocalists plus the Shomrei Shira choir. Come for a musical Shabbat treat and stay for a delicious Oneg following the service. NOTE: The start time of the service is 7:30 PM. There will not be a 6:15 PM service on this date.
