Sonoma County Yom Hashoah Commemoration (Zoom Only)

Sunday, April 16, 2023 25 Nisan 5783

2:00 PM - 3:30 PMZoom Only

Step by Step…towards…Never Again!

The event will include Peter Krohn, a local survivor who will share his experiences, as well as the words and voices of local students, grades five through high school, and their teachers about the impact of hearing an in-person testimony in their schools.

The commemoration will highlight the work currently being done by The Story Project and the Alliance for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide to carry forward the lessons of the Holocaust, especially in light of the recent rise of anti-Semitism. Our goal is to provide a hopeful picture of the positive work that is being done behind the scenes, step by step, to heal the divisiveness and intolerance in today’s world.

There will be musical performances, as well as candle lighting by Jewish survivors; lighters for the Roma, Gays & Lesbians, Disabled, Righteous Gentiles, and Political Activists; as well as those targeted by genocide.

The program is free and open to the public. We hope that you will be joining us for this year’s commemoration.
