An update to the congregation from the Visioning Task Force

Dear Shomrei Torah members,

Thank you to the almost 300 of you who responded to the congregational survey!

When asked about what they value most, the word most frequently used by respondents was “community.” Many expressed satisfaction and appreciation; some shared disappointments.  But there is clearly widespread, heartfelt interest in deepening and strengthening our connections to one another as part of the Shomrei Torah community.

The next step in the visioning process is to bring members together – virtually or in person – to chat about our future.  Some of you may receive invitations to take part in a particular focus group, such as ones for current or past congregational leaders; for long-time members or those who’ve recently joined; for Saturday morning regulars; for those in the older generation or a younger one; or for teens.  But everyone will be welcome to join in.  Look for sign-up information coming soon.

It will take us a few months to summarize the entire visioning process, including a review of issues currently facing the entire Jewish community; CST survey results; and focus group comments.  A report from the Visioning Task Force will be made to the Board and shared with the entire Shomrei Torah congregation shortly after the High Holy Days. Stay tuned!
