Be’chol Lashon (Hebrew for “in every language”) was born in the Bay Area more than 20 years ago to both embrace the historical diversity of the Jewish people and welcome the growing diversity of the contemporary Jewish community. The group has grown to include summer camps, teen programs and nurturing other organizations of Jews of Color.

Be’chol Lashon Director of Community Engagement Lindsey Newman will join us in the sanctuary to discuss current community outreach efforts to build inclusive Jewish community for a diverse population of Jews who identify as Black, African American, and mixed race.

Lindsey has over a decade of experience working to advance racial justice in the Jewish community. She was a 2018 Fellow of the Ruskay Institute for Jewish Professional Leadership and received her B.S. degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Some 40% of young Bay Area Jewish households are now racially diverse,1 yet most Jews of Color report feeling discriminated against in Jewish settings.2

Let’s make sure everyone feels welcome at CST!
